FAQ

How long does it take you to make a hat?
It can take anywhere from 2-48 hours to make a hat, depending on the style and how much detail goes into it. Non-felted hats such as beanies and berets take a shorter amount of time, while the felted and trimmed cloches take much, much longer and require a great deal more work.

Is your home smoke- and pet-free?
Yes.

Are all of your patterns original?
Almost unequivocally yes! I say "almost" because a few of my patterns are based on vintage patterns in the public domain, though I do always modernize them a bit.

How long does it take to develop a crochet pattern?
It can take several weeks, depending on the size of the project and how many rounds I feel I need to perfect it. After I have a pattern finished to my satisfaction, then I need to type it out long-hand (my short-hand is illegible to all but myself) and give it to my pattern testers. Once they give the "ok," it's ready for publication.

Can I be a pattern tester?
Maybe. Maybe not! Right now I have all the testers I need, but if I ever need more in the future I'll put a call out on the blog.
