Art to Love: Tuesday, September 14, 2010
I am really loving these block prints, etchings, and monotypes by fellow Pennsylvania artist Diane Podolsky. Not only is her work amazing, but it's also affordable and each piece is original!

Hello, Trunkshow!
This morning I met up with my partner in crime, Jodi Bello of Stitch Sprite, to discuss our upcoming trunk show at Hello Bluebird in West Reading, PA. We are getting really excited and had a fun time brainstorming our display! The show will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 4-8:00 during West Reading's First Thursday event. All the shops and cafes will be open, and many will have special discounts or freebies.
Hand Felting 101
Felting (or fulling) is a huge part of my hatmaking process, and I thought it would be appropriate to post a tutorial for those of you who are curious as to what goes into it. First of all, let me clearly state that what I do is different from what a milliner or commercial hatmaker might do. Typically, felt (usually from animal fibers) is wetted and stretched over a hat block to shape and allowed to dry. The felt has a basic, very loose hat shape the begin with.
